Carter Peckham is a Tacoma Physical Therapist who founded North End Physical Therapy to offer patients a range of therapeutic options. North End Physical Therapy’s 6th Avenue District location serves patients in the 98406 area code and throughout the city.
Carter received her B.S. in Exercise Science from the University of Kansas in 1997. She then earned a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) designation from the Arizona School of Health Sciences in 2001. She is fully licensed in Washington State and has practiced physical therapy in Tacoma and the surrounding region since 2001.
Carter’s professional background includes practice in outpatient, sports, and orthopedic settings. This wide range of patient and clinical experience transfers well to her current practice at North End Physical Therapy.
Pursuing a rigorous schedule of continuing education, Carter has focused on expanding her knowledge and manual therapy skills. She became a Certified Mulligan Practitioner in 2006. She has studied traditional orthopedic manual therapy techniques from a wide variety of well-known instructors including Shirley Sahrmann, Stanley Paris, Catherine Patla, Diane Lee, Ola Grimsby. She has even studied craniosacral therapy and reflexology. Her approach is to use whatever treatment works for an individual patient, and she is not locked into one specific philosophy or treatment style. Carter has also been an adjunct professor at the University of Puget Sound on-site clinic since 2016.
Carter Peckham is a Physical Therapist with knowledge of varied therapeutic approaches which benefits patients. Carter draws on her training and experience when developing comprehensive treatment plans. Patients with unique differing orthopedic conditions will find there are many options available.
Carter’s philosophy is guided by a strong belief in integrating all systems of the body. Her experience has shown her that treating the body as a whole helps patients heal more quickly and have fewer recurring injuries.
Carter has lived in Tacoma since 2001. She and her husband Eric live in the North End with their two German Shepherd rescue dogs, Radley and Calpurnia.
By establishing North End Physical Therapy in Tacoma, Carter fulfilled a goal of working locally and supporting her community.
